About the event
Do you ever find yourself listening, but already preparing your response?
Maybe you genuinely want to understand and yet something in you reacts. Impatience. Defensiveness. The urge to fix or explain.
Perhaps you often see the solution clearly. You know what would help. You offer your idea… and when the other person doesn’t take it, frustration builds. It seems like they’re not listening.
Listen to Be Heard - Creating Space for Connection is for people who want to listen in a way that builds trust and connection, without losing themselves in the process.
In this 3-hour interactive workshop, we explore how listening can become a powerful act of presence rather than persuasion. Rooted in the principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), this session focuses on the quality of attention we bring to conversations and how that attention shapes what becomes possible between us.
Rather than trying to fix, convince, or “say the right thing,” we’ll slow down and explore:
How to listen beyond words, for feelings, needs, and what truly matters
How to stay present when you feel frustrated, reactive, or unheard
How empathy creates the conditions for mutual understanding and makes it safer for you to be heard too
You’ll have space to reflect on your own listening patterns and practice in pairs or small groups in a structured and respectful setting. There is no pressure to share more than feels right for you.
This workshop is especially helpful if you:
Often feel responsible for fixing or helping others
Feel unheard when people don’t follow what seems like a clear solution
Want more calm, clarity, and confidence in difficult conversations
This is not about becoming a “perfect listener.” It’s about cultivating the kind of attention that creates space for honesty, understanding, and deeper connection.
Group size is limited to 16 participants to allow for depth, safety, and meaningful exchange. No prior experience with Nonviolent Communication is needed.
If you’re curious how listening differently can transform how you are heard, this workshop may be for you.
